The Refugium was founded and developed by Jay and Christian. Both come from a background in bodywork and are rooted in Lomi training. You can find out more on the About Us page.
Please only do so by prior arrangement and with the consent of everyone who is identifiable. For sensitive topics: discretion comes first. Specific rules may also be set additionally for each workshop.

This depends on the workshop. It’s often helpful to bring comfortable, easy-to-move-in clothes, a change of clothes if needed, and water. For most formats, you will receive a list of what to bring in advance.

Since the founders Jay and Christian are both Advanced Lomi Practitioners, several Lomi courses take place at the Refugium, such as Lomi Lomi basic courses and regular exchange formats. You can find the current offerings in the Lomi overview and on the respective event pages.
Lomi Lomi is a Hawaiian-inspired form of bodywork, expressed through an oil massage with flowing movements. Core principles are presence, breath, wave-like movements and a clear mindset.
The Refugium is located in the heart of Aschaffenburg. We are surrounded by numerous restaurants and cafés. You can also prepare or heat up food you’ve brought with you in the Refugium kitchen.
It varies, but there’s usually a clear framework: arrival, introduction, practical exercises (often with rotating roles), breaks, and a closing circle. For body-based formats, “giving & receiving” is often a key part—always within consensual boundaries.
Both are possible – depending on the workshop. Some formats are open to individuals and couples without being a traditional “couples workshop.” Please check the information on the event page for more details.
That depends on the format. Many offerings are explicitly beginner-friendly (e.g., Lomi Lomi basic formats or introductory workshops). You’ll always find precise information on the respective event page about whether prior experience is needed.
